TODAQ sponsors off-grid and digital currency R&D in collaboration with University College London
Extending digital ownership and P2P transaction capability into adverse environments
(2 min read)
TODAQ is pleased to report its sponsorship and collaboration with the University College London to support the UCL Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UCL CBT) in the Department of Computer Science. The funds will be used to support the research activity for off-grid and ‘soft-offline’ transactions as well as digital currency applications. This applied research has direct societal and market benefits for applications where connectivity is constrained, often at the start of supply chains (e.g., mines, farms), during transportation (e.g, trains, planes, ships), and for P2P markets in remote communities or developed areas where outages, disasters or cyber attacks have cut or limited connectivity. TODAQ has a number of projects in the pipeline where later phase of implementation will be including this enhanced functionality.
The University College London, Department of Computer Science Centre for Blockchain Technologies was founded in 2016 to research the effects of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) and Blockchain into our socio-economic systems and to promote the safe and organic development and adoption of Blockchain-based platforms.
The centre is the nucleus for DLT and Blockchain research and engagement across eight different departments at UCL and for its Research and Industry Associate network. Their Research and Industry Associate community consists of over 180 researchers and practitioners from UCL, other academic institutions and companies utilising DLT.
